Vallelunga to host inaugural FIA TCR World Ranking Final

The FIA World Motor Sport Council has validated the introduction of the FIA TCR World Ranking Final, a new standalone end-of season touring car competition that wil gather the best drivers from the TCR World Ranking System, with the exclusion of the the full-time Kumho FIA TCR World Tour competitors.

The inaugural edition will be held at Vallelunga from 21 to 23 November, one week after the conclusion of the eight-event Kumho FIA TCR World Tour season.

Marcello Lotti, President of WSC, commented: “We are delighted that the World Motor Sport Council has approved the introduction of the FIA TCR World Ranking Final that will be held every odd years in alternance with the FIA Motorsport Games. And it is very appropriate that its inaugural edition will be hosted by Vallelunga, that is an iconic racetrack for touring car competition. The participation in the Final is set to become the ultimate goal for the many competitors who use to race in the TCR series all around the world.”

Alfredo Scala, General Manager Autodromo di Vallelunga, added: “It’s with the greatest pride that we will be hosting the first ever FIA TCR World Ranking Final at the Autodromo di Vallelunga, an event that is evidence of the quality of our facilities and our motorsport commitment. Our circuit, with its challenging technical features that has followed touring car competitions from the Supertouring years until the current TCR evolution, it’s the ideal context for this unique event. We are excited to offer competitors and fans alike such a thrilling experience.”
